LVW is an organization that relies solely on the dues of its members for funding. In other words, there is no secondary source for funds. LVW does not have sponsors or grant money to generate funds. The budget money for the year comes from the members. The LVW Board of Directors would like to see every student march who has the desire. We do not want money to be a reason to not get involved. Therefore, we offer financial assistance to members who request it.
The Financial Aid Fund is not drawn from the dues of the marching members. The income for this fund comes from prize and appearance money, gifts from former marching members and friends of LVW, and from the Kwik Trip Kwik Rewards program (from families who have designated LVW as the recipient). Over the years, there have been annual donations from some very generous alumni of LVW. Thank you for your gifts!
Here is where you may be able to help. If your financial standing is such that you are able to give a gift to this fund, please consider a donation. There is currently not enough money in the fund to grant the requests that have been recieved. LVW is going to help families who have requested aid, but many will not receive the amount that they feel they need to meet the financial committment for the year. Maybe you have a parent or grandparent who has been connected with LVW in the past. Maybe you have other relatives who have the ability to help. If so, please have them contact me (James Neujahr - jneujahr@fvlhs.org) for information on how to send a gift.
Many families have requested aid for the current year. Many of the requests have already been granted, and there are several that will be granted before the April statement is mailed. If you are waiting for confirmation of your request, please be patient. LVW will do what it can to honor all requests.
