    LVW Picnic Details

The LVW Picnic will be Sunday, August 2. We will begin our day with a worship service on the FVL Patio, followed by a hamburger/brat lunch, and then a few hours to enjoy each other’s company and share photos/stories from this past summer. There will also be items from the LVW store available for purchase. We have a nice supply of drawstring bags and backpacks - these would be great Back-to-School items for the kids!

Here is a schedule for the day:

11:00 Worship service led by Pastor Skorzewski (Pastor Ski) from The Core, Appleton

    12:00 Lunch

1:00 - 3:00 Free time at FVL or Plamann Park

For the worship service on the patio, please bring your own lawn chairs/blankets to sit on. In case of inclement weather, we will move the service to the FVL auditorium. We will also be singing the two choral pieces from the summer during our worship service.

Mr. and Mrs. Dietzler will be providing hamburgers and brats, as well as silverware and napkins (will there be any sporks?). You are all asked to bring your own beverages, plates, and a dish to pass.

If you will be attending, please RSVP to Tom Dietzler by Tuesday, July 28 so that they can plan for the proper amount of brats/burgers to prepare. You can RSVP to Tom by email at thomas.dietzler@sbcglobal.net or call his cell phone at 920-419-1010.

If you have never been to Plamann County Park before, there are many hiking trails, a swimming lake, and disc golf courses. For more information on the park, visit their website: Plamann County Park

Plamann County Park is located just to the north of the FVL propery. You can either walk to the park or drive there. If you would like to disc golf, please bring your own discs. Also, there is a small fee for the swimming lake.

Tell all your friends about the picnic! Hope to see you all there for a great finish to a great summer!

LVW Picnic is Sunday, August 2

Hey everyone. Keep the first Sunday in August open. We will be having our annual picnic that day. The worship service and lunch will take place at FVL, with the afternoon devoted to just hanging out or heading to Plamann Park for some disc golf, swimming, or whatever you would like.

Keep your eyes on this space for more details. We should have everything finalized in the next day or two.

We welcome Pastor Ski from The Core in Appleton. He is very excited to lead us in worship that morning.

    Traverse City and Milwaukee Itinerary

Here it is, the final itinerary for the 2009 season. How fast time flies! In just one short week the current season will only be memories. If you can’t travel to Michigan to visit the Cherry Festival, hopefully you will be able to come to the Great Circus Parade on Sunday.

    Thank you Phantom Regiment!

LVW was able to enjoy several hours of the Phantom Regiment’s rehearsal on July 3rd. They also were staying at Kettle Moraine Lutheran HS. After a morning and early afternoon rehearsal, LVW took time to observe what a typical day in the life of the reigning DCI World Champion is like. Needless to say, the rehearsal time was intense and productive. Just before boarding the buses for our own evening parade, we were also treated to a full run-through of the show. All in all, the experience was awesome and it raised our members’ level of awareness to another level. We also want to thank the Phantom Regiment’s staff who opened up their rehearsal time to the members of LVW.

    Happy Birthday America!

What could be better than a birthday celebration, 100,000 people to help celebrate, and a marching band? Well, not much! LVW will be marching in three Independence Day parades today and we can’t wait to entertain all of those people.

Last night was the Menomonee Falls parade, which was absolutely packed with people from beginning to the end. Since we are close to “home,” there were many groupies that came to the parade. It was also great to see all of those LVW alumni last night. Hope to see more of you today.

We also take time to thank our Heavenly Father, who has so graciously blessed us with a nation in which we are free to worship Him. Thanks also to all of the men and women who have served in our country’s armed forces to keep those freedoms intact.

How BIG is the Circus Parade? Read this!

Wisconsin’s historic Great Circus Parade is expected to attract 500,000 people and generate $27 million to the local economy, Circus World officials said Wednesday.

The parade is returning to Milwaukee after a six-year hiatus on July 12. Gov. Jim Doyle, who will appear in the parade wearing period costume, said it’s an important part of Wisconsin’s history. More than 100 circuses were formed in Wisconsin, which earned the state the nickname “the mother of the circus.”

Two of the Circus World Museum’s patriotic circus wagons stopped on the Capitol Square to kick off the 40th parade, which will be the 30th staged in Milwaukee.

“This parade will bring the circus back to life in Milwaukee and in Wisconsin for families and children this summer,” Doyle said. “These wagons and the great circus parade belong to all the state’s people, and I hope everyone will have the opportunity to come out and see the splendor.”

The circus parade will be the nation’s third biggest parade this year, behind the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day and Rose Bowl parades, said Circus World executive director and former Republican lawmaker Steve Freese.
