Greetings!

I apologize for not getting in touch with you sooner; I had some things come up that I needed to attend to.

Unfortunately, we did not get a large enough group of alumni to enter a unit in the Brillion and Appleton parades. All is not lost, however! I would like to organize an alumni weekend June 26-27. LVW will be in the Madison area that weekend, and it might be fun to join them for a couple of days!

The kids will be rehearsing in the Madison area Saturday and then attending a DCI show in Middleton that evening. We could purchase a block of tickets for the DCI show and watch a GREAT show with them (you can check out the line-up at www.dci.org)! On Sunday, LVW will be marching in the Oregon parade and then performing in the MACBDA show at Oregon High School at 7pm; it would be great to have a contingent of alumni cheer them on that day!

I am looking into hotels in the Madison area, and will be in touch with details in the near future. If you would like to attend the DCI show. please contact me at arndttierneyj@hotmail.com. We will need a group of 20 to purchase tickets at the group rate.

Plans are in the works for our Alumni Band 2010! So far we have a couple of dozen alumni that are looking forward to hitting the parade route, but we are definitely looking for more! And yes…we are having a colorguard! Bob Glasheen, LVW’s recently “retired” guard instructor has agreed to write and teach the guard routine–THANKS BOB!!! I’d like to send out a sincere “Thank You” to those that have kindly sent in a gift to assist this year’s students financially; however, we still have a way to go to be able to fulfill all of the financial aid requests for this summer. Please consider a gift for this wonderful cause!

It is with great pleasure and a great deal of excitement that I have taken on the role of Alumni Coordinator for FRVLYB/LVW! Our intent through this link is to keep alumni informed of the current band’s activities, and to coordinate a few of our own. Some fellow alumni and I also think it would be fun to have an occasional alumni gathering just to catch up and have some fun. It is also my intent to enter an alumni band in the Flag Day parade next summer, and possibly the Brillion parade the night before as well!
